So far, two things I've seen:
1. It's unanimously (so far) a positive thing.
2. There will be EPICWANK.

I'm excited to see what happens on my flist and other places tonight.

Well, it wouldn't be right if there WASN'T wank, right? I think there was a moment around when "Time Crash" aired when all seemed right with the world, then I think two days later, there were photos of Billie Piper or something and Mt. Fandom exploded.

Yes! I think this also means that he would be instrumental in selecting Eleven, right?

RTD already said he wouldn't select the next Doctor. Whether this means he's already had Moffat do it, or Moffat is planning to do so in 2010, I don't know.

I had given up hope that this would happen, since he was working on Tintin, but it looks like his schedule has opened up enough for him to make the commitment as the next showrunner. YAY!

It was unexpected for me, too. I'm not exactly sure when, but I decided to give up on the idea of Moff as future showrunner. I reasoned that to see it not be him would be too emotionally painful, so I worked to not get my hopes up.

This news is so surprising and welcome and just makes me happy happy happy!

There is no one who hasn't told me this, and yet each time I read the news, I'm still happy.

I think Moffat is an excellent choice, but I find myself surprisingly ambivalent about Davies leaving. I had plenty of complaints about season one and two, but I also liked a lot of stuff and from the Martha era on I can't remember an episode I didn't think was quite good. This probably means I'll never have to suffer through another one of Davies' regrettable reality show parodies or "Neighbors" cameos, but the stuff he did that drove me nuts was balanced by his incredibly effective drama and a lot of genuine wit. I loved his quiet insistence on including GLBT themes, too.

I suppose he's gonna stick with Torchwood and Sarah Jane? I haven't heard anybody talk about that.

Tennant is the one whose departure I'm REALLY dreading. I was fine with Eccelson leaving, he was very good in the role but it didn't hurt to see him go. But Tennant has made the role his own, and his Doctor seems so alive and feisty... the idea of watching him die is no fun at all!
